Amanda Kohr is an LGBTQ+ award-winning playwright and screenwriter hailing from Appalachia.

After escaping a born-again Christian cult, Amanda moved to Los Angeles and joined the cult of Hollywood. Her plays have appeared throughout the country, including workshops and performances with the Last Frontier Theater Conference, the THML Theater Company, the Fountain Theater, and others. Her work focuses on obsession, sexuality, desire, and the death of girlhood.

In 2022, her pilot Texts From Your Ex earned her a spot as a fellow in the Outfest Screenwriting Lab. In 2025, her script CRICKETS was featured on the Blacklist. Most recently, Amanda was selected for the Blacklist x WIF Episodic Lab. She is a 2026 WIF Screenwriting Fellow and currently works with filmmaker Jason Reitman.

In addition to writing scripts, Amanda is a sex and relationships journalist with bylines in Cosmopolitan, VICE, Refinery29, Elite Daily, Betches, and more. She is also the host of the podcast THIS FEELS BI, available on all podcasting platforms.
